Wedding trends for Spring 2010 can be summed up in one word: colorful! Baby pink and pale green pastels are a thing of the past. Guests attending a 2010 spring wedding are likely to be blown away by vibrant shades of turquoise, coral or even fuchsia as they enter the wedding hall. All eyes will be on the bride as she walks down the aisle, but the wedding party’s attire will draw its fair share of attention as well. Top selling bridesmaid’s dresses are being ordered in shades known as ‘horizon blue’, ‘deep clover green’, and ‘ruby’.
While tradition still plays a large part in most weddings, today’s brides are looking for a fresh take and a unique look for their wedding day, replacing "demure" with "dramatic". Brides are opting for bolder and more dramatic colors in wedding gowns or accenting traditional white gowns with bold sashes of deep purple, sunny yellow or even red.
Popular bridal magazines are reporting wedding themes where shades of deep turquoise reminiscent of the colors of the ocean and a honeymoon on the beach are paired with varying shades of coral. Tropical flowers and colorful butterflies in bold and brilliant shades might be seen on everything from wedding favors to the cake itself. Instead of the usual tightly bound bouquet, some brides are opting for loosely tied fresh flowers held by a colorful ribbon.
What is your opinion? Do you love the soft, gentle hues of traditional Spring color palettes, or do the hotter, vibrant tropical colors get your passions stirring?
